Obstetric fistula is a largely obscure medical condition resulting from childbirth. The World Health Organization calls it, "The most horrific affliction known to humankind."
SOAS student, Habiba Cooper Diallo, will present her new children's book, Yeshialem Learns About Fistula. The launch will include live music, short comments from guest speakers, followed by a one-on-one with Habiba and a question and answer period. Refreshments will be served.

Habiba Cooper Diallo is an advocate for a maternal health affliction called, obstetric fistula, and the founder of the Women's Health Organization International, WHOI. She has been involved in fistula awareness-building for the past 7 years. Her work on fistula has led her to Guinea, Ethiopia, and Sierra Leone. Yeshialem Learns About Fistula is her first book.
Copies of the book will be on sale and the event will include a book signing.
