Activity Day - Sacred Scripts of Ethiopia and Eritrea Activity Day at the Bodleian

Bodleian Library

Saturday 27th July 2019

11.00am - 4.00pm, Weston Library, Broad Street, Oxford OX1 3BG

The Bodleian has a collection of over 100 manuscripts from Ethiopia and Eritrea. Many of these are beautifully illustrated and written in Ge‘ez, the liturgical language of the Ethiopian and Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Churches.

Over the past year, members of the Ethiopian and Eritrean communities have worked with Bodleian Libraries staff to curate a display of some of the precious manuscripts and icons from Ethiopia and Eritrea in the Bodleian's collections.

Join them at this free activity day to celebrate the opening of the new display and explore Ethiopian and Eritrean heritage and the Ge‘ez language.

Admission free. No need to book.

More information can be found on the Bodleian Library website.
